Important Message Regarding the Prescription Medication: Adderall

We have been informed that Adderall and its generic forms are going to be in short supply for the coming year. We do not know exactly what this means for all of our patients who currently take Adderall, but we will continue to write prescriptions as usual.
Our suggestions at this time:
- Allow for a greater amount of time when calling for your prescription in order to shop around if your usual pharmacy is out of stock or is waiting on shipments.
- We recommend that you call when you have 10-12 days of medicine left so that you will have no disruption in your child’s access to medication.
- While we are not recommending changing your child’s medicine at this time, please be aware that if this shortage persists or worsens, this may be necessary.
We are not able to control the price of medications, so please understand that if you usually receive the generic form and the pharmacy is only able to fill it with brand name, you will be responsible for the difference in cost. This is between you and your insurance company, so please direct any problems regarding cost to your insurance company.
