Allergies and Asthma
The air we breathe is filled with pollen, pollutants, and dust. Most children and adults are unaffected by these intruders. For a large number of children, however, these simple contaminants can make life miserable. Sometimes severe allergies can be a sign of something more – asthma. Discuss with your provider if you feel like your child is showing signs of extreme allergies.
Bottlefeeding
Before your baby arrives, you’ll want to consider whether you’re going to breastfeed or use formula. The American Academy of Pediatrics advocates breastfeeding as the optimal form of infant feeding. Even though formula feeding is not identical to breastfeeding, formulas do provide appropriate nutrition. Both approaches are safe and healthy for your baby, and each has its advantages.
Behavioral Health
Annapolis Pediatrics is committed to providing superior healthcare for your children. Because at least 1 in 5 children have a developmental or behavioral concern, we have dedicated staff and resources for the assessment and management of our patients and their families who have these types of concerns.

Chest, Lungs, Heart
Healthy lungs are crucial to your child’s well-being. The lungs can get infections that, when serious, can cause chronic and sometimes life-threatening illnesses.
Diversity and Inclusion
Talking with our children about diversity and inclusion in our community and world is important.
Below are some diversity and inclusion resources - books for all ages, movies, podcasts, articles, videos and more.
Ear, Nose and Throat
As pediatricians, we see many children daily with ear pain and sore throat associated to a variety of types of infections or viruses. Some infections—especially an ear infection, strep throat, bronchitis, and sinusitis—may necessitate the administration of medication for a week after your child is well enough to return to school.
Endocrinology
Endocrinology is the diagnosis and treatment of hormone-related diseases and conditions. Some of these endocrine conditions and disorders include the following:
Eyes, Head, Neck and Nervous System
During childhood your child may experience a variety of neurological disorders. Many of these conditions are not cause for concern and go away on their own. Your pediatrician can guide you along the way and help you navigate anything more serious, if needed.
Fitness
Fitness is an important part of life - for overall physical health and mental health. There are many ways to include fitness into your family, most importantly remembering that from an early age, children have a ton of energy and need to move it out during the day.
Illnesses, Infections and Disease
Despite their microscopic size, viruses are responsible for many childhood illnesses. When viruses invade human cells, they take over the cell's machinery to reproduce. As they grow in number they can cause illnesses, some of which can be serious.
